Danté Kuiper, singer of the popular Dutch band De Vleugels, unexpectedly commits suicide on his twenty-fourth birthday. Leaving his band and his girlfriend behind.

Bregje van den Berg is forced to keep the band together whilst she is struggling with the fallout of her boyfriend's death. There are many questions unanswered, but when she reconnects with one of Danté's old friends, she hopes to find out the reason behind the singer's suicide.

Markus van Dijk met his best friend in 1987. Unfortunately for him, Danté is a drug addict who cannot accept his own sexual identity. Together they struggle through unexplainable feelings and a friendship that is not meant to be.
